THE GOODS
THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
I have always had a fascination with old world crafts, or what others might consider the "lost arts."
Cooking is one of the oldest professions in the world and it was mine for quite some time. That led me to studying the culinary arts and culture in southern France. There I fell in love with butchering, which was the occupation I transitioned into once I returned to the states. Besides working, I wanted some form of creative outlet to learn in my spare time, and blacksmithing was what I seemed to be the most interested in. Unfortunately, I do not think my landlord, neighbors or especially my wife would appreciate slamming a hammer to an anvil all day next to a 2000 degree forge that would most likely burn the building down.
I turned to look for a less "intrusive" alternative and that is when I discovered the relatively QUIET activity of leather craft. I started teaching myself, and the rest is history.
...And no one wants me evicted for it.
